Week-long training intensives led by Duke School Project Work Developers for an inside look at the three main phases of project work.

Project-in-a-Week: A League of Their Own

July 6-10, 2020


Institute Division: Middle School

Led by Duke School seventh grade teachers hailing from public schools, their camp will provide educators with the opportunity to participate in all three phases of a Duke School Project with middle school children. As participants, you will learn how to kick off a project, build collective knowledge, design field experience opportunities, develop questions, guide student research, and host a culmination to display and celebrate student learning. You will observe student collaboration and questioning, critical thinking, and self-directed learning. There will be time each day for dialogue, debriefing, and questions with Duke School Project Staff Developers.

Registration includes morning coffee and lunch each day. Register by May 15, 2020 for the early bird rate of $650 per attendee. Participants will earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Project-in-a-Week: The Purr...fect Pet

July 13-17, 2020

Institute Division: Elementary School

This five-day Project-in-a-Week Camp will provide educators the opportunity to participate in all three phases of a Duke School Project with elementary school age children. As participants, you will learn how to kick off a project, web and wonder, represent stories and learning, conduct research, interview experts, manage field experiences, and plan and host a culmination. You will observe student collaboration, effective communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and self-directed learning.  There will be time each day for dialogue, debriefing, and questions with Duke School Project Staff Developers.

Registration includes morning coffee and lunch each day. Register by May 15, 2020 for the early bird rate of $650 per attendee. Participants will earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Payment: Payment by credit card or check is accepted. 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations e-mailed to us 21 days prior to the institute will be refunded less a 20% processing fee. After that date no refunds are available, but replacement registrants are welcomed.
